The one exception is that you can’t use your Gift Card balance to purchase other gift cards. Your Amazon Gift Card balance is the generic, all-around credit that can be used to purchase nearly anything sold by Amazon.
Once clicked, a popup will appear displaying your Appstore Credit balance. The link is located on the right, just above the “Add to Wish List” button. Next, click the blue link labeled “Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance”. To check your Amazon Appstore Credit balance, visit the product page of any paid app. If you have both Amazon Appstore Credit and Amazon Coins, the Appstore Credit will be used for purchasing apps instead of your Amazon Coins, even if you select Amazon coins as the purchase method. This credit is listed in dollars, but is essentially equivalent to Amazon Coins. This is Amazon credit that can only be used to purchase apps and games from the Amazon Appstore.
Your Amazon Coin balance will be displayed on the right, below the price of the app. To check your Amazon Coin balance, visit the product page of any paid app. One Amazon Coin is equivalent to $0.01 US dollars (i.e., a penny) These coins can only be used to purchase apps and games form the Appstore. Many apps will reward you with free coins when they are purchased. However, I imagine for some people this could be an undiscovered goldmine of aural memories and delights.This is Amazon’s in-house currency for Appstore purchases.
We played around 4 of the Addicted to Bass 2010 tracks in the office this morning, and now my enjoyment of Autorip is pretty much over. I’ll let you decide which album I bought for myself. The other two were purchased as presents: one for my Mom, and one for my Dad. Only one of these albums was actually mine. I guess were cheaper for music back then. In my head I was imagining hundreds of great tunes from my college days, such as Feeder, Terrorvision or Blink 182. I was excited to log in and see what CDs I had purchased from them since 1999. But still… they are free, and Amazon are not forcing you to download them, so it’s all good. Of course, they could also be CDs you have thrown away, as your tastes have changed. The service, called Autorip, lets you rediscover music you may have forgotten about, from old CD albums you may have lost or cracked a long time ago.
